Dr Murad Ibrahim is a respiratory, sleep and general physician; who also trained fully in intensive care medicine. He holds the position as the Medical Director of Knox Private Hospital, Victoria. He is also the Medical Director of the Mitcham Sleep Centre. He has served on a number of member of medical advisory committees including at Knox and Mitcham Private Hospitals for many years.

Dr Murad Ibrahim has a number of academic roles, including being a senior national examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for a number of years. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University and is very active in the training of junior medical staff at Eastern Health. He obatined a number of post graduate degrees including a Doctor of Medical Science (DMedSc), a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management (GCerHCM) and a Graduate Diploma in Health and Medical Law (GDipHlth&MedLaw).


Dr Ibrahim undertook his training in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine at Eastern Health and Austin Health. He held a public appointment at the Austin Hospital as a respiratory and sleep physician including service at the Victorian Respiratory Support Services (VRSS); the main centre for chronic ventilation in Victoria. He remains an active member of the General Medicine Team at Eastern Health.


His areas of interest include chronic non-invasive ventilation the subject of his doctorate degree. He has extensive expertise in the management of complex sleep disorders, including reporting of bi-level ventilation sleep studies. Other special skills include adult resuscitation and peri-operative medicine; which he acquired through his intensive care and anaesthesia training.


He has admitting rights to Knox and Mitcham Private Hospitals and is happy to provide inpatient care at these hospitals. He also provides a regular bronchoscopy service at Mitcham Private Hospital and the other hospitals if required.
